Which are the tapas that best combine in the aperitif?

The palate works more or less the same as the rest of the body: it works at full capacity if we warm up first. In the case of food it is quite important, especially if “we want to open our mouths”, not to choose lids and appetizers that are too heavy and slow to digest. For that reason we recommend that if we are going to make a snack before a big meal this snack should be based on low fat and low protein bites. Fat and protein are two nutrients that use a great amount of energy to be digested, besides filling our mouth and palate much more intensely than carbohydrates.

If we choose tapas that are cooked with a base of protein and fat (for example, meat or stew) it is very possible that we will feel full after 20 or 30 minutes and once we have sat at the table we will not be able to enjoy the main meal. Here are some ideas for tapas that you can try as an appetizer and that will not interfere with your appetite if you are going to enjoy a more complete meal later.

Brave Potatoes

This is one of the most internationally known Spanish tapas. The potato is one of the most nutritious carbohydrates in the world, and although it is a fairly satiating food, it is much less so than, for example, tapas prepared from meat or fish.

Crisps

Chips are the perfect accompaniment to a cold beer or beer. They are also very easy and quick to digest, which means that in 30 or 40 minutes your stomach is ready for the next meal.

Olives

Although olives are one of the richest foods in fat, it is a very healthy vegetable fat. Canned olives have an astringent taste that helps cleanse the palate in a similar way as wine does. In addition, olive caps are usually quite small in quantity, so you don’t have to worry about getting stuffed.

Pickled anchovies

Although anchovies are a fish and have a high protein content, being marinated in vinegar makes them much easier to digest. Again, as in the case of olives, the astringent taste of vinegar helps us to cleanse the palate and prepare it to continue tasting other foods, and anchovy caps are very small in quantity.

Croquettes

Although the kibble has an important component of protein and fat, it is also very rich in carbohydrates because it is battered or breaded. Eating a couple of kibbles as an appetizer will also help to whet your appetite without being too bland.

Therefore, if you have stayed with desire to enjoy some good tapas accompanied by an appetizer, do not hesitate to reserve in La Boqueria and enjoy the best dishes.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
